IMAX has inked a deal with Odeon and UCI Cinemas Group, to install two new digital theater systems under joint venture agreements in Mallorca and Milan.

The Spanish location will open under Odeon's Cinesa brand in Mallorca. The location in Italy will operate under the UCI name in Milan.

This marks IMAX’s first joint ventures in Spain and Italy.

Both locations are scheduled to open on May 20th, 2011. IMAX has been on something of an expansionist kick of late. The company has extended its footprint in Asia and in such western European markets as the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
