IMAX Corporation has tapped a former Paramount International president to help oversee its own global expansion.
Andrew Cripps will join the big-screen company as president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, IMAX said Wednesday.
Cripps joins IMAX from Paramount Pictures International, where he had been president since January 2007.
“I am delighted to join IMAX, a company I know and respect and a name that is synonymous with quality entertainment,” Cripps said in a statement.
In his new capacity, he will be responsible for the expansion of IMAX’s theatre network in these regions and will identity distribution partners and opportunities.
Cripps was also named executive vice president of IMAX.
Previously, Cripps was president and COO of UIP, a joint venture distribution company between Paramount and Universal.
