Justin Long's latest film, "The Lookalike," has been acquired by Arclight Films, the company announced on Friday.
Long produces and stars in the Richard Gray-directed crime comedy, which recently wrapped production in New Orleans. John Corbett — who has been cast as the lead in CBS' "NCIS: LA" spinoff — co-stars along with Jerry O’Connell, Gina Gershon, Gillian Jacobs and Luiz Guzman.
“'The Lookalike' is not your everyday crime-romance,” said Gray. “The writing is superb — a beautiful twisting plot and I feel we have something special here, a balance of wit and action, made real by such a talented and diverse cast."
The film, which Arclight is preparing to present to buyers currently prowling the Berlin International Film Festival, follows two criminals as they attempt to find a lookalike love interest for a drug lord after the unexpected death of the girl he's actually interested in.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Justin, Richard and their extremely talented team of filmmakers and actors,” said Clay Epstein, VP of sales and acquisitions for Arclight Films. “'The Lookalike' has the perfect combination of commercial viability and modern day moviemaking edge that is certain to resonate with audiences on a global scale.”
