Nick Offerman knows high people in places.
Now that his film "Somebody Up There Likes Me," which debuted at SXSW, has been officially picked up for distribution in March 2013 by Tribeca film, the "Parks and Recreation" star devised some half-baked ideas for a promo.
What'd he settle on? Well, the obvious choice: Get super stoned with his wife and friend.
In the video, Offerman, wife Megan Mullaly and fellow NBC network-mate Alison Brie sit around on the bed, discussing the movie casually as a glassy-eyed Offerman stumbles over the title.
"What's going on with your movie, dude?" Brie asks with heavy eyelids and a sublime grin.
"'Somebody Up There Loves Us'?" Offerman says.
Mullaly corrects him with a groggy "no" as she forces herself to sit up.
"It's called 'Somebody Up There Likes Me' — you produced it, you and me are in it," she says.
"Right," Offerman says, sparking his lighter to re-light the glass bong. "Shit."
Before lighting his pot-packed piece, he turns to Brie and gives her the skinny.
"'Somebody Up There Likes Me,'" he says. "It's hilarious. Um …"
He trails off and strikes the lighter, inhales a cylinder of white smoke then coughs as exhales a cloud.
The film, directed by Bob Byington, stars Offerman and Keith Poulson as best buddies who fall in love with the same girl, played by Jess Weixler.
