It's getting more and more expensive for Sean Penn to get his kicks these days.

TMZ reports that the "Milk" star has settled a civil suit against him, launched by photographer Jordan Dawes, who claims that Penn kicked him during an October 2009 confrontation.

Penn pleaded no guilty to vandalism in relation to the incident this year, receiving 300 hours of community service and 36 months' probation. A battery charge was dismissed as part of the plea deal.

The photographer's civil suit claimed that he had incurred a knee injury because of the incident.

It's not known how much Penn paid out as part of the settlement. Penn had faced up to a year and a half in jail with the original charges stemming from the incident.
