"Terminator: Salvation" grossed $67.5 million at the overseas box office from 70 markets, easily landing the Christian Bale-starrer in the top spot.

Despite its debatable Stateside B.O., the film is doing better at this point in its run than "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines." And "Salvation" marks the third highest international opener of 2009, according to studio estimates.

The film came in first in, among other places, the U.K. ($11.6 million), Russia ($8 million), France ($6.3 million), Germany ($6 million) and Australia ($5.2 million). Its total foreign total is $97.2 million.

Fox's "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" landed in second place, grossing $26.7 million from 66 markets. Its foreign take now stands at $148.4 million, and, worldwide, it's at $275.7 million.

"Smithsonian" landed the top spot in Korea ($4.8 million from 542 spots) and finished first in its second China weekend with $2.1 million.

No. 3 was Sony's "Angels & Demons," which brought in another $22.3 million from 100 markets. The film has grossed $293 million internationally and has crossed $400 million worldwide.

Pixar/Disney's "Up" opened No. 1 in Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela for a take of $7.8 million from four markets. "Up's" international gross total to date stands at $13.5 million, and the worldwide total is $150.8 million.

Paramount's "Star Trek" finished No. 5, with $6 million in its fifth weekend in 62 markets. Its international cume is $112 million, and its worldwide gross is $334.8 million.

"Land of the Lost" debuts next week overseas.
