"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" took on the world over the weekend, blasting off with $162 million in 58 territories, according to studio estimates.

Having opened in two markets last weekend -- the U.K. and Japan -- the total for Michael Bay's sequel is now at $186 million, and its global grab is $387 million.

The first "Transformers" grossed $389 million overseas.

"Transformers 2" topped every country's B.O. chart in which it debuted. Asia continues to be a huge market for the Paramount-Dreamworks film, with China contributing $22 million, which marks the highest debut for an English-language film. It was also strong in Korea, with $14.9 million, and records have also been set in the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The record for a global launch is Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," which grossed $251.1 million over its first six days. Also beating "Transformers 2" overseas have been "Spider-Man 3" in 2007, which grossed $230.5 million in six days, and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which grossed $193 million.

Sony's "Terminator Salvation" is still a strong performer worldwide, with the action film grossing another $10.4 million in 70 markets.

That takes the Christian Bale-starrer to $220 million internationally.

Third was Warner Brothers' "The Hangover," with $10.1 million from 29 territories. The raunchy comedy's take so far overseas is $46.2 million.

Disney's "The Proposal" landed in fourth place; its weekend take was $7.2 million in 13 markets, and its total so far is $22.7 million.

Landing in the fifth spot was Fox's "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian"; its global take so far is $202.3 million.
