Universal Pictures International has elevated Duncan Clark to president of distribution. Clark has been executive VP of distribution for UPI since 2006.

He reports to David Kosse, president the studio’s international division.

Clark helped guide the studio’s international division as it transitioned from its UIP joint venture with Paramount Pictures in 2007 into an autonomous one. Universal Pictures has had two of its best years at the international box office in 2007 and 2008. In 2008, box office reached $1.714 billion, thanks in part to “Mamma Mia,” which grossed more than $460 million outside of North America.

As president of international distribution, Clark supervises Universal Pictures’ operating companies and UIP Joint Ventures.

Prior to joining Universal, Clark served as partner of Pacific Media International where he produced independent movies and acted as marketing consultant. He worked for Sony Pictures for 14 years, serving as president of their international theatrical division from 1996-2000.
