Warner Bros. is developing a stage musical based on "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," the Roald Dahl children's classic it brought to the big screen four years ago.
Neal Street Productions, led by Sam Mendes and Caro Newling, will produce the project, and Mendes is considering directing as well.
Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman ("Hairspray") will compose the music.
