Nicolas Cage Has Only Himself to Blame

November, 18, 2009 4:13 pm | Comments On #Movies, Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage is broke. He dug himself an enormous financial chasm and willingly jumped in it.

Contrary to the extravagant and glamorous exterior, a person who puts himself in such a place lives a comatose life. Cage is certainly not the first celebrity to self-sabotage on such a grand scale. And like most celebrities who find themselves the fodder of unflattering ubiquitous headlines, he blames someone else for his colossal misfortune.

In this case, Cage's flying fickle finger of fault is pointed at his business manager Samuel Levin. Stupefied, Cage claims he's been "done wrong" by Levin and is not responsible for the massive predicament he now faces. Not an unusual claim for someone who can't hear the giant sucking sound of his disappearing wealth because he's too busy trying to fill a vast vacant void of internal self-worth with...

Gosselin: Control Freak or Out-of-Control Narcissist?

November, 11, 2009 4:57 pm | Comments On #Jon and Kate Plus 8, Jon Gosselin, reality shows, Television

Not satisfied with the abundance of media attention already showered upon him Jon Gosselin is now pumping up the volume with suicidal threats.

Gosselin former nanny Stephanie Santoro revealed, publicly of course, that she feared Gosselin would kill himself if girlfriend Hailey Glassman left him for good. Some say the threat is an attempt to control Glassman, keep her under his thumb.

Jon Gosselin a control freak? I think not. I see the evolving Gosselin family freak-show a bit differently.

When Jon and soon-to-be ex-wife Kate Gosselin first broke up, Jon was reported to be devastated. Crying in the laps of one cupcake after another he lamented, "Why? Why? Why?" Are you friggin' kidding me?

Call me quirky but the way not to keep a marriage or any intimate relationship intact is to be...

Blunt's Sharp Focus Helps Her Get Ahead

November, 02, 2009 2:01 pm | Comments On #Emily Blunt

Actress Emily Blunt walked into her audition and firmly announced, "I'm here to play Queen Victoria and I'm not leaving until you give me the job!" She then focused and commanded every scrap of energy and talent within her to deliver her best performance possible, and she did not leave that audition until she was awarded the role.

That is the power of intention and a shining example of the secret to superstar success.

Know what you want and put every part of your being -- your thoughts, feelings, choices and actions -- into alignment with that desire. Speak and act in the direction of your dreams. Let no one and nothing stand between you and that which will make your heart sing.

The common denominator between those who rise above the competition...

Can Lohan Move Beyond Tabloid Fodder?

October, 19, 2009 5:43 pm | Comments On #Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan was in court recently to answer charges that she has not fulfilled her probation requirements. As a result of the 2007 convictions, she was ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol education program, serve 24 hours in jail and perform 10 days of community service while on 36 months' probation.

Lohan and her attorney came to court armed with excuses and reasons why Lohan simply could not comply with all of the probation requirements that were given to her in lieu of a stay at the county jail for her DUI bust in 2007. Lohan had completed 15 of the 26 individual alcohol sessions, half of the group classes, 13 of 28 self-help sessions and all six education classes, but the court was not impressed.

Judge Marsha Revel warned Lohan she would be sent to jail unless she immediately attended her alcohol counseling program of classes and sessions....

Twitter Fights: New Medium for Self-Sabotage

October, 14, 2009 5:14 pm | Comments On #celebrity Hollywood, Demi Moore, Perez Hilton, tallulah willis, twitter

HA!

That's often my first reaction when I open up the "Calendar" section of the Los Angeles Times in the wee dark hours each morning.

Monday's edition was no exception. Matea Gold reports that celebrities are taking their egoist rants about each other to the public stage -- and are beginning to rue the day they ever discovered Twitter.

No longer do we need the paparazzi to hide in the bushes hoping to get a shot of celebrity self-sabotage. Superstars and those seeking superstardom have cut out the middle man and now publicize their own misguided emotional reactions to the events of their daily life. They're getting quite good at self-destruction in 140 characters or less!

The latest celebrity feud to emerge from the Twittersphere is between Perez Hilton and Demi Moore. They're duking it out on Twitter over two posts by Perez concerning Demi's...
