CAA has upped a number of staffers, bolstering departments, such as motion picture talent, after a rash of recent departures
CAA has promoted more than a dozen people, beefing up a bevy of departments after a rash of recent departures, TheWrap has learned.
Ten former coordinators and assistants are now agents:
>> Jon Cassir, book rights for film
>> Elan Ruspoli and Charlie Jennings (pictured left), film talent
>> Franklin Latt and Alex Mebed, film
>> Bobby Kenner, TV alternative
>> Meredith Jones, music, based in Nashville, and focusing on college market bookings for music and comedy
>> Ryan Fitzjohn, music, based in London
>> Tess O'Sullivan, sports
>> Chelsea Reed, TV lit
>> Luna Xu, film, based in Beijing
A troika of other former coordinators are now executives: Marissa Edler in baseball, Angie Sun in marketing and Jin Wang in publicity out of Beijing.
The group ascends after months of exits at the Hollywood mega agency. Last week it was reported that Isabella Brewster and Jeff Speich left the building, following Byrdie Lifson Pompan, Peter Loehr and Ara Keshishian out the door. That’s all since the start of March.
February saw the firing of Dan Aloni, and his subsequent move to WME. It was announced on Tuesday that Aloni client David Dobkin has joined his rep at the new agency. Dobkin directed "Wedding Crashers" and "Shanghai Knights."
Loehr ran the agency's Beijing office, and CAA said it had selected a leadership team of three to run that shop.
