Clones beware: Dimension Films knows how to beat you.

Dimension has preemptively acquired rights to "How to Defeat Your Own Clone," the satirical "guidebook" by Kyle Kurpinski and Terry D. Johnson, the studio announced Wednesday.

Ed Ricourt, who wrote the treatment, will adapt the book into a screenplay.

Dimension hasn't attached a director or cast. Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Eric Robinson at the Gotham Group are producing.

Ricourt, the screenwriter, wrote Summit Entertainment's "Now You See Me," now in pre-production. Louis Letterier is directing that movie and Jesse Eisenbert stars.

"How to Defeat Your Own Clone" is set in the near future, after the first human clone was created.

Mankind, as it tends to in movies, handles clones badly. Humans turn clones into slaves. The slaves, of course, revolt, sparking a civil war between naturally born humans and clones. The clones win and mankind has to figure a way to beat the stronger, healthier, more involved clones.
