Viewers aren't taking too kindly to the new teaser trailer for "The Canyons," mimicking a '50s melodrama
Lindsay Lohan is back in a new teaser-trailer for Paul Schrader's "The Canyons" — and even if it's not clear that any of the footage shown is from the actual film, it does feature Lohan doing her best to act like "a sensual woman torn between two loves" — James Deen and Nolan Funk.
And though it mimicks a '50s melodrama, it does take a wink at the present, labeling screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis as a "Twitter-obsessed author" and Schrader as a "never-nominated director."
But despite the satirical approach, viewers don't seem to keen on what they're seeing. As of now, the top comment on its YouTube page reads, "Brilliant. The only one in the trailer who can act is the porn star."
Comparing the film to Tommy Wiseau's cinematic mess that has become somewhat of a cult classic, another user wrote, "I didn't know 'The Room' had a prequel set in the 50's."
Others were less creative and left blunt comments like, "Jesus. What a piece of crap." Some just seemed confused and asked, "Is this real?"
The most positive response — perhaps reflecting why there is a majority of green filling the "likes" bar — came from a viewer complimenting Lohan's naked legs. "I'll say this much, if those are Lindsay's legs, they are hot."
Regardless of how good her lower limbs look in black and white, it doesn't seem like anyone is taking her latest project very seriously. Watch the newest glimpse of it below and give us your own reaction.
