The latest look at "Drive" director Nicolas Winding Refn's film alludes to sexual undertones between onscreen mother and son
Nicolas Winding Refn's "Only God Forgives" did not receive a warm welcome at the Cannes Film Festival this year, but the new trailer still promises enticing suspense, tension, violence and borderline incestual relations.
"I have a very special relationship with my son," Kristin Scott Thomas says, over the image of her character stroking Ryan Gosling's bicep.
In the Bangkok-set crime drama, Scott plays a crime lord, and Gosling's mother, who is in town for revenge after one of two sons is brutally murdered by a retired police officer.
She refers to Gosling as "a very dangerous boy" and dispatches him to bring her the head of the his brother's killer. But it may not be that easy, as Gosling explains, "It's a little more complicated than that, mother."
