Quentin Tarantino has completed the script for his long-awaited Spaghetti Western, TheWrap has confirmed, and is preparing to shoot it with Christoph Waltz in a lead role.

Walz, who won an Oscar for playing Nazi Col. Hans Landa in Tarantino's "Inglorious Basterds," will play something like a good guy in "Django Unchained."

The title appears to be a nod to Sergio Corbucci's 1966 "Django," about Django, a gunslinger who rescues a woman from bandits -- and who drags a coffin with him.

In Tarantino's movie, Waltz's character helps a former slave rescue his wife from a plantation owner.

Despite reports of a Tarantino cameo, TheWrap has been told that there have been no conversations about the director appearing in the movie.

The Weinstein Company will distribute the movie.
