Henry Bromell, Writer-Producer on 'Homeland,' 'Homicide,' Dies at 65

Emmy-winning writer-producer Henry Bromell, who worked on "Homeland," "Homicide" and other shows, has died of a heart-related ailment. He was 65.

ShowtimeBromell, who shared in the Emmy win last year when "Homeland" was named Outstanding Drama series, died in a hospital Monday in the Los Angeles area. He had previously worked on shows including the acclaimed "Homicide: Life on the Street," "That's Life," "Brotherhood" and "Rubicon."

He also served as showrunner for the latter two shows.

Sybil Christopher, the wife that Richard Burton famously left for Elizabeth Taylor, has died. She was 83.

Long Island's Bay Street Theatre, which Christopher co-founded and served as artistic director for 22 years, announced her death last week, but did not specify the cause. Murphy Davis, a co-director of the theatre and one of Christopher's close friends, told TheWrap on Tuesday that she passed away March 7.

Bobby Rogers, Co-Founder of Miracles With Smokey Robinson, Dies

Bobby Rogers, who founded the Motown singing group the Miracles with Smokey Robinson, has died. He was 73.

Motown Museum board member Allen Rawls told the Associated Press that Rogers died Sunday morning at his home. Rogers lived in the Detroit suburb of Southfield and had been ill for several years.

Bonnie Franklin, 'One Day at a Time' Star, Dead at 69

Bonnie Franklin, the Golden Globe- and Emmy-nominated actress who played Ann Romano in the CBS hit sitcom "One Day at a Time," died Friday at her home. She was 69.

News broke in September that Franklin had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her death, an individual familiar with the situation told TheWrap

Born in Santa Monica, Calif., in 1944, Franklin first appeared on television at age nine, in "The Colgate Comedy Hour," and made her Broadway debut in 1970 in "Applause." She also had a semi-regular role on ABC's "Gidget."

Dale Robertson, who hosted TV western series "Death Valley Days" and starred in a number of big-screen westerns in the '50s and '60s, died Wednesday at the age of 89 of complications from lung cancer.

Younger audiences would remember him from appearances on "Dallas" and "Dynasty"; he also starred in "J.J. Starbuck," which ran on NBC for one season from 1987 to 1988.

Country singer Mindy McCready has died at 37 of an apparent suicide.

Update: In a news release,  the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas said that McCready was found dead Sunday afternoon with what appeared to be a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Deputies were sent to a home around 4 p.m. and found her body on the front porch. An autopsy is pending.
