USC Library's new exhibit "Inside the Hollywood Fan Magazine" charts the development of the fan magazine from the early years of film to its transition into more tabloid style journalism in the 1960s and afterward. The items on display provide a fascinating look at the development of the entertainment media and some of Hollywood's greatest stars. From Shirley Temple to Bette Davis, Liz Taylor to Burt Reynolds, the exhibition looks a an indelible slice of American popular culture history. Here's a sampling of some of the colorful covers of these old time magazines currently on display at the Doheny Memorial Library through July 30. (Photos courtesy of USC Cinematic Arts Library)
