Lindsay Lohan kicked off her 90-day jail sentence for probation violations on Tuesday. It’s seemingly the low point in a long downward career spiral for the “Mean Girls” star.
Fear not, LiLo. You’re just continuing a long Hollywood tradition of doing time.
Here’s the good news: With the possible exception of O.J. Simpson, the stars and celebs who have had a stint behind bars emerged from jail with their careers intact.
In fact, a few of them, such as Robert Downey Jr., Sean Penn and that “Golden Age of Hollywood” maverick Robert Mitchum, even had career renaissances following their legal troubles. In the case of Penn and Mitchum, their jail stints helped to reinforce their bad-boy images.
