The MTV Movie Awards are getting a revamp this year, with MTV Video Music Awards executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic stepping in to executive-produce this year's ceremony.
While Ignjatovic has executive-produced the MTV Music Awards for five years running, this will be his first go-round with the Movie Awards. Last year's Video Music Awards earned MTV its biggest audience in the network's history.
This year's MTV Movie Awards will air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre on June 3 at 9 p.m.
“Just as Jesse has done with our ‘Video Music Awards’, we know he’ll infuse this year’s ‘Movie Awards’ with creative, musical and cinematic elements that fully tap into the sense of awe our audience experiences in a movie theater," Stephen Friedman, MTV's president, told TheWrap. "In his inspired hands, this year’s show will be re-imagined to deliver a telecast that reflects our audiences’ favorite films, music and stars.”
