Katy Perry, Lady Gaga Together on MTV VMAs Seating Chart: This Could Be Awkward …

Recent chart rivals Katy Perry and Lady Gaga are seated next to each other, which shouldn't be a problem at all

Are the MTV Video Music Awards trying to start a catfight between Lady Gaga and Katy Perry?

The official Twitter account of Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where the VMAs will take place Sunday, tweeted out a pic of the seating arrangements for the ceremony on Thursday, indicating that Gaga and Perry will be parked next to each other for the event.

"@ladygaga and @katyperry with prime time front row seating at the #VMAs," the photo is captioned.

Apparently, whoever's in charge of the seating arrangements hasn't consulted the pop charts recently. Otherwise, they'd know that Perry and Gaga recently faced off against each other with their respective singles "Roar" and "Applause." And that Perry handily mopped the floor with Gaga, selling 557,000 copies to Gaga's 218,000.

Which could make things a little awkward on Sunday night.

Seated behind the two songbirds? The band called Fun. Which is what the audience could have if an epic clash of egos breaks out during the VMAs.
