MTV’s ‘The Real World’ Picked Up for Two More Seasons

The granddaddy of reality TV gets go-ahead for a couple more rounds of roommate-driven drama

Long-running reality series "The Real World" has been picked up for a 27th and 28th season, MTV announced on Wednesday. The series, which premiered in 1992, is currently airing its 25th season, "The Real World: Las Vegas," and auditioning for its 26th season.

Jonathan Murray, executive producer of "The Real World," said that the MTV series has remained relevant "because it continues to capture the lives of young adults, hold a mirror to the challenges they face, and truly reflect the current generation."
