Washington is truly feeling the earth move this week as singer-songwriter Carole King is honored with the Library of Congress’s Gershwin Prize for popular song and then saluted in two concerts, one in the White House.

King is becoming the first female songwriter to win the prize, which was won by Stevie Wonder in 2009, Paul McCartney in 2010, and the songwriting team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David in 2012.

Coverage of Tornado-ravaged Oklahoma has the broadcast networks moving their schedules and beefing up their news coverage.

NBC has decided to preempt its one-hour "The Voice" recap show at 8 p.m. ET for a live special hosted by Brian Williams. It will air concurrently on NBC, MSNBC and the Weather Channel.

The live "The Voice" results show will air as planned at 9 p.m./8c. It will include a special tribute to Tornado victims from coach and Oklahoma native Blake Shelton and his wife Miranda Lambert. NBC is keeping the song title under wraps. They have been working on the performance since Monday and it's currently scheduled for the top of the hour.
