Jon Stewart: Is Mayor Rob Ford Smoking Crack to Clean Up Toronto? (Video)

May, 22, 2013 6:39 am | Comments On #crack, Daily Show, Jon Stewart, Rob Ford, Television, toronto

Jon Stewart has a unique theory about allegations that Toronto Mayor was caught on video smoking crack: Maybe he was just smoking it to get it off the streets.

Reporters for Gawker and the Toronto Sun say they have seen a video in which the conservative mayor appears to be smoking from a crack pipe. Ford's lawyer says it's impossible to tell what the mayor is smoking.

But Stewart suggested another defense on Tuesday's "Daily Show."

"Hey! Don't judge him," Stewart said. "Maybe he's cleaning up the city by smoking all the crack in it. You're next, prostitution rings!"

May, 22, 2013 6:25 am | Comments On #man of steel, Movies, trailer

General Zod is a heck of a lot scarier than Kryptonite.

The interstellar supervillain is front and center in a new trailer for "Man of Steel" that plays more like a spin-off of "Cloverfield" than it does a teaser for a man-in-tights flick.

As Zod takes control of the airwaves, a scroll announces, "You are not alone."

"I have journeyed across an ocean of stars to reach you," Zod intones, informing the people of earth that he seeks the man he knows as Kal-El.

"To those of you who know of his location, the fate of your planet rests in your hands," he adds.

To prove that he means business, the trailer for...

It was an adventure that somehow turned into a career.

When Sofia Vergara got a call to audition for a Barry Sonnenfeld movie called "Big Trouble" back in 2001, the 29-year-old Colombian wasn’t an aspiring actress. She was a TV hostess on the Spanish-language Univision network, a former dental student who’d fallen into modeling and then hosting for the Latin market.

“I really had no interest in being an actress,” Vergara told...
