Nancy Carr, SVP of Communications for Hallmark, Dies at 50

Hallmark executive had a decades-long career in communications

Nancy Carr, senior vice president of corporate communications for Hallmark Channels, died on Friday following a long illness. She was 50.

Carr, who previously worked for the CBS Television Network, came to Hallmark in 2005 as a vice president of corporate communications. She also worked at the Fox Broadcasting Company as senior manager of publicity.

Carr sat on the Board of Governors for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Pam Slay, senior vice president of network program publicity at Hallmark Channels, remembers Carr for her tireless spirit and devotion to at-risk animals.

"Nancy is the ultimate warrior," said Slay. "She never complained a single day. She also never stopped rescuing animals from kill shelters. When I saw her last Friday, she showed me pictures of all the kittens she was finding homes for. She earned her angel wings long before she passed."
