Actress returns to television for first regular role since “Grey's Anatomy”
NBC has ordered Katherine Heigl drama “State of Affairs” to series.
The drama follows Heigl as CIA attaché Charleston Whitney Tucker, who counsels the president — played by Alfre Woodard — on high-stakes incidents around the world.

The cast also includes Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas and Leslie Odom, Jr.
Writer-director Joe Carnahan (“The Blacklist”) serves as executive producer with Heigl, Nancy Heigl, Robert Simonds, Sophie Watts, Henry Crumpton, Rodney Faraon and Julia Franz.
