NBC Scores Record NFL Primetime Ratings

Thursday night’s matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans was the highest rated regular season NFL primetime game in 13 years

NBC execs are probably did their version of the end zone dance when they saw the ratings for Thursday night's NFL game between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints.

Based on overnight ratings numbers, the game scored a 17.7 rating/28 share in the key adults 18-49 demographic, making it the highest-rated NFL regular season primetime game in 13 years. It was NBC's highest-rated regular season primetime game of all time. 

The huge numbers from the football game led NBC to an easy Thursday night primetime ratings win, beating second place CBS by 253 percent. 

Thursday's football game was a rematch of the 2010 NFC title game Jan. 24, which the Saints won 31-28 in overtime. The Saints beat the Vikings again on Thursday night by a score of 14-9.
