Connecticut Gov. Daniel P. Malloy announced that NBC Sports will move from NBC's New York City headquarters to Stamford, Conn., confirming reports from last week.
Malloy said the move to the city 35 miles from Manhattan would create 450 new jobs in his state. He was the mayor of Stamford before being elected governor last year.

NBC Sports becomes the fourth participant in Malloy's "First Five" initiative, designed to consolidate tax incentives to draw the first five businesses that will invest $25 million in the state and create at least 200 jobs over five years.
NBC Sports will be housed in new studios and offices at a former factory. The 32-acre site will have office space for NBC Sports, NBC Olympics, NBC Sports Digital, Versus (which will be renamed the NBC Sports Network on Jan. 2), and the Comcast Sports Management Group, which oversees the NBC Sports Group's 14 regional networks.
"This new campus is about bringing people together to maximize production, creativity and efficient teamwork. We are creating one 32-acre unique location that allows us to build numerous state-of-the-art studios, house more than 450 employees, and prepare for anticipated future growth," said Mark Lazarus, chairman of NBC Sports Group.
The move adds to Connecticut's reputation as a host for sports entertainment: It is already home to ESPN, the WWE and Versus.
