'The Voice' Top 5 Results: A Winning Streak Is Broken

The NBC competition named its three finalists on Tuesday

One more week and NBC's “The Voice” will name its Season 5 winner. But, right now five singers are up for elimination. Who will go through to the final week?

No matter what happens, coach Adam Levine will have a finalist. Meanwhile, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton have one competitor each and thus only the one chance for finals. Earlier in the game, Cee Lo Green lost all his team members.

Tuesday's guest performers were all former competitors making their homecoming. Several have new singles out and I think “The Voice” used this opportunity to remind viewers that it had created working artists. But, has it made superstars? That's another story.

Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope comes close. She has her own CMT reality series, an album and she performed her single, “I Wish I Could Break Your Heart.”

Earlier, The Swon Brothers, the duo that placed fourth last season, returned to open the episode. They're currently signed with Arista Records and played their new song, “Later On.”

Michelle Chamuel, Season 4 runner-up, also came by to perform her new single, “Go Down Singing,” with the USC Drum line. It wasn't what I expected from her. I think I expected something a little more rocking and this was strangely adult contemporary of her.

Season 4 winner Danielle Bradbery also came by to perform “Never Like This” from her album, “Heart of Dixie.”

Enough about the homecomings, here are Tuesday's results:

First off, host Carson Daly announced the night's instant elimination. The artist with the lowest votes was Team Adam's James Wolpert. The alterna-rock guy had come close to leaving last week, but America gave them their Instant Save.

He then announced who had been saved – after asking those strange pageant questions he's been doing this season. Your finalists were announced in this order: Team Adam's Tessanne Chin and Team Christina's Jacquie Lee.

Who will the last finalist be? Will Champlin or Cole Vosbury? And Team Adam's Will takes the last position.

That means that Blake Shelton's reign of terror – just kidding, I mean winning streak — has been broken. For the first time since Season 1 when Team Adam took the championship with Javier Colon, someone other than Blake will take the game.

How do you feel about the Top 3?

C'mon Jethro, the Swon Brothers finished third (not fourth) in season 4. And, The Wrap's own Katrina Parker gets a mention from Carson and you don't mention it! C'mon man, get with the program.

Love Katrina Parker! I wish they had her singing last night too… she's so amazing.

I could care less about the judges’ victories. It's all about the singers. At this point it's all about Tessanne for me.

My 3 favorites are still in it, Tessanne is the best Voice hands down but I believe Jacquie will win as she seems to be more popular. All three will be successful. BTW I loved Will's Dad saw Sons of Champlin a few times live in the 70's

I will be very disappointed if Will doesn't win. All Jacquie can do is shriek and scream (also, go back and look at her expression when they save her – it's always so smug), and while Tessanne is definitely a powerhouse (and a much, much better one than Jacquie), I doubt that either of them will sell much after the show. Will, on the other hand, has a completely unique voice and mixes up every song he does to make it his own, which gets him downloads. iTunes downloads are cumulative, and he's had two in the top ten while the others have only had one. Anybody who was voting for Cole or James – actually, just people who want something *other* than powerhouse, will vote for Will now. The finale will be powerhouse song after powerhouse song from Tessanne and Jacquie, which will make Will stand out even more. I honestly don't understand why people support Jacquie – yes, she's the ‘youngest artist in the competition’ as Carson reminds us every week, but she's nothing more than a sassy, mini-Xtina wannabe without any emotion, depth, dynamics, or clarity of tone… who wants to listen to that? Truth is, if she wasn't pretty and sixteen, she wouldn't be here. And that's that. Tessanne is sweet and talented, but I just don't think she deserves to win. She has a good voice, but Will has improved so much throughout the competition – isn't that what it's about? Not to mention that Will is an absolute sweetheart – look at the way he treats his fans online! #Champs forever! Will should, hands down, win Season 5 of The Voice.

Will has the most unique voice and has more talent than the others, so he will win. And now that Cole is out he will win the votes from the country music.
