Thank heavens she said “yes”!

NBC filmed and orchestrated a real life marriage proposal to promote its promising new sitcom “Marry Me,” which debuts Thursday. The network’s digital team tricked Jovan into thinking she was having lunch with her best girlfriend Connie, but in reality she was being set up for the surprise of a lifetime. Her parents, her friends and a bunch of hired performers helped her boyfriend Bret pull off a stunning proposal, which involved moving set pieces and everyone lip-syncing the Sheppard song “Geronimo.”

Eventually she was handed a bouquet of pretty flowers greeted by her boyfriend Bret.

“Every bone in my body, every breath in my lungs wants to spend the rest of my life with you,” he told her. “It would be my honor if you’d marry me — will you marry me Jovan?”

Her friends and family cheered so loudly, they could barely even hear her say “yes.”
