NBC's "Today" denies stalking Alec Baldwin.

In a series of tweets Wednesday, the star of "30 Rock," which also airs on NBC, said a crew from the morning show had camped outside his New York City apartment to get his comment on a woman charged with stalking him.

"No one from NBC contacted me until the Today Show arrived at my apt.," he wrote. "I think I'm leaving NBC just in time."

He was alluding to his on-again, off-again plans to exit "30 Rock." The last tweet left unclear whether he had again decided to leave the show — after previously abandoning plans to leave — or if he was just kidding. Baldwin has signed on to remain with "30 Rock" through next season.

But a person at NBC, speaking on condition of anonymity, said it was all a misunderstanding. The network insider said a "Today" crew went to the apartment to get a live shot and had only a brief exchange with the actor.

"The 'Today Show' did a live shot near Alec Baldwin's apartment building this morning to show the scene of the alleged stalking. The 'Today Show' was not camped out in an attempt to get an interview with Alec. Instead, Alec happened to walk out of his apartment building, and our reporter tried to get a comment, as any reporter would. When he said no, the crew left," the person told TheWrap.

Baldwin took many shots at the show in his tweets, including this one:

"Outside my apt today, along side the other stalkers from the tabloid press, a crew that identified themselves as being with the Today Show. … I haven't appeared on the Today Show in many years. But did they have to camp outside my apt?"

He ended another tweet about "Today" with the hashtag: "howthemightyhavefallen."

The star is known for the occasional overreaction, including once calling his daughter a "rude, thoughtless little pig" in a widely circulated voicemail. In December, he was kicked off an American Airlines flight before takeoff after a spat with the flight attendant who had asked him to turn off an electronic device.

Reporters gathered outside Baldwin's home after Genevieve Sabourin, 40, was arraigned Monday on charges including aggravated harassment and stalking. She was arrested after she appeared outside Baldwin's Greenwich Village apartment. Baldwin said she had also sent several e-mails and messages.

The New York Post reported that Baldwin had dinner with Sabourin twice last year, and cited a law enforcement source who said she claimed to have had a sexual relationship with the actor.

Baldwin said the dinners were strictly professional, and denied any physical relationship.
