Netflix and 20th Century Fox Ink Multi-year ‘New Girl’ Streaming Deal

The first season of the Fox comedy is out on Netflix Monday, subsequent seasons will be available after broadcast

Netflix entered into an exclusive multi-year streaming deal to bring the Fox sitcom "New Girl" to its U.S. members, the company announced Monday.

The first season of the Twentieth Century Fox Television comedy is available on Netflix immediately. Subsequent seasons of the Zooey Deschanel vehicle will be available on Netflix after the broadcast seasons, according to Netflix. "New Girl" was recently renewed for a third season.

"'New Girl' has proven to be the biggest breakout sitcom hit of the season and we are thrilled to be able offer it so quickly to our U.S. subscribers," Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement obtained by TheWrap. "We know our members love comedies and that they'll enjoy watching all the current and future episodes of 'New Girl' whenever and wherever they want."

"As a leader in digital distribution, Netflix is an important partner for us, " said Gina Brogi, executive vice president of Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution. "We are thrilled to continue building our relationship with them."
