New interface offers snappy descriptions and more details on recommended titles
If you tend to tear through your Netflix queue via your television, Netflix has a new experience for you — and they want to immerse the living hell out of you with it.
The video streaming giant announced Wednesday that it has unveiled a new design for Netflix on TV that’s meant to create a richer, more engaging experience for viewers.
The design was launched simultaneously across multiple devices, such as set-top boxes, Smart TVs and game consoles that deliver Netflix to televisions.
The new experience includes multiple cinematic images for each title, snappy new descriptions, and more personalized details on why Netflix has recommended a particular title.
“Our members collectively watch more than a billion hours of Netflix a month, most of that is on a TV,” said Netflix Chief Product Officer Neil Hunt. “This is the biggest change to the Netflix experience on televisions in our history, making it even easier to find something great to watch on Netflix, bringing our members many more hours of Netflix enjoyment on their TVs.”
