New ’42’ Trailer: Jackie Robinson Finds His Guts (Video)

Warner Bros. and Legendary's upcoming sports drama, starring Harrison Ford and Chadwick Boseman, hits theaters on April 12

The newest trailer for "42" makes it abundantly clear that Jackie Robinson didn't become a baseball legend by fighting for respect; instead, he had the guts to earn it on the field.

However, the first black Major League Baseball player, who wore the number 42, may not have made history if it had not been for Brooklyn Dodgers executive Branch Rickey guiding his career.

"You want a player who doesn't have the guts to fight back," Robinson, played by Chadwick Boseman, asks his boss.

"No," Harrison Ford as Rickey responds. "I want a player who's got the guts not to fight back."

The racially-charged sports drama — which is looking like a homerun for writer and director Brian Helgeland ("A Knight's Tale") — hits theaters on April 12.
