New ‘Godzilla’ TV Spot Reveals First Good Look at Monster (Video)

The Destroyer of Worlds shows off his roar in latest ad for the May 16 release

With less than a month from release, fans are finally getting a real good look at Godzilla.

In the new TV spot released Friday for Legendary and Warner Bros. summer blockbuster, the No. 1 cause of death for islands named “Japan” reared its massive head and roared, giving audiences their best reveal yet of the monster. The money shot occurs at the end of yet another video highlighting the emotional beats at the core of director Gareth Edwards‘ film.

“They evacuated us so quickly,” a grave Bryan Cranston says via narration, “I don’t even have a picture of her.”

The “her” in question is (spoiler alert!) the late wife of Cranston’s character, played by Juliette Binoche, whom he last saw crying on the other side of sealed containment doors at a nuclear power plant.
