‘The Great Gatsby’ Trailer: Parties, Liquor & Leo (Video)

Leonardo DiCpario and Carey Mulligan fit perfectly, but what of Tobey Maguire?

How did Baz Luhrmann use 3D for "The Great Gatsby"?

If the latest trailer is any indication, the parties, showgirls and dancing will be bigger and badder than ever.

After a brief sampling of Jay-Z and Kanye West's "No Church in the Wild," the clip teases extravagant 1920s fêtes as a voice narrates, "the parties were bigger, the morals were loose and the liquor was cheaper." Hundreds of extras dressed to the gills and a few palatial estates serve as a backdrop for this era of decadence and extravagance.

Of course the parties are just a veneer, hiding a society torn between old money and new, where "restlessness approached hysteria."

Enter Leonardo DiCaprio as the eponymous protagonist from F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, whose presence begs one question: Who is this Gatsby?
