New Line Cinema has acquired the rights to Maggie Stiefvater's young adult novel "The Raven Boys," ahead of the book’s publication next week, a source close to the project told TheWrap on Friday. 

Getty ImagesAkiva Goldsman ("A Beautiful Mind") is on board to produce the adaptation, which is out to writers.

Due to be released on Sept. 18, the book is a love story with a twist revolves around the offspring of psychic parents who is told that if she find her true love and kisses him then he will die.

However, Blue Sargent, the daughter of the town psychic, is too practical to believe in things like true love. She decides to stay away from the rich boys at the nearby Aglionby Academy, which is home to the Raven Boys.

Last year, Warner Bros. optioned Stiefvater's book "The Scorpio Races," for David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith’s KatzSmith Productions to produce. Stiefvater also wrote the bestselling "Shiver" trilogy.
