New ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Trailer Drops During NFL Season Opener (Video)

Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster is charmingly bored and the God of Thunder is desperate for friendship in new TV spot

Behold: a new trailer for “Thor: Ragnarok” debuted during Thursday’s NFL season opener between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs. Watch it above now.

Full of moments we’ve seen before, the new spot has some new bits as well. For instance, the way Jeff Goldblum’s charmingly bored Grandmaster is projected holographically in front of the crowd before fights on the battleworld. The best though is the moment we see just how much Thor misses fighting bad guys with his superhero buddies back on earth. “I’m putting together a team.” “What’s this team called?” “uh… the revengers?” Aw, we miss you too Thor.

And of course as always, every single shot looks like discarded concept art for literally any Led Zeppelin poster ever made.

Directed by Taika Waititi, “Thor: Ragnarok” stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as Loki, with Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins. It hits theaters Nov. 3.
