News Corp. Christens Education Division Amplify, Gives Peek at Product Line

Led by Joel Klein, the company will partner with AT&T to provide a 4G tablet based learning experience

News Corporation pulled back the curtain and allowed the public to get a look at its education division on Monday.

The new arm of the media giant has been christened Amplify. Led by Joel Klein, the former chancellor of the New York City Department of Education, the company said it will re-imagine K-12 education by creating digital products and services in collaboration with AT&T. The company said it is working on a 4G tablet based learning experience.

It will be part of News Corp.'s publishing division after the Rupert Murdoch's media empire completes its announced split into two separate companies. Klein has been rumored as a possible CEO of the entire division.

finally live up to its promise to advance learning and augment teaching for students, teachers
