‘Nip/Tuck’ Star Joely Richardson Joins ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’

Steven Berkoff and David Dencik have also been cast in David Fincher’s English-language adaptation

"Nip/Tuck" star Joely Richardson, "Beverly Hills Cop" villain Steven Berkoff and Swedish actor David Dencik are the latest additions to the cast of David Fincher's English-language adaptation of Stieg Larsson's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."

The director himself revealed the news in an interview with Swedish paper SvD to promote his latest effort, the masterful "The Social Network."

It remains unclear who the trio will be playing, but The Playlist's speculation on their roles is worth the read if you just can't wait until next year to find out.

The website points out that Dencik played a minor role in the Swedish version as Mikael Blomkvist's colleague Janne Dahlman, making him the first original cast member to be cast in Sony's remake, though the actor won't necessarily be playing the same character. Perhaps Fincher thought he had an interesting look and decided to give him a bigger part?

Fincher also mentions in SvD's story that by filming the Swedish crime story on location in the actual country, he hopes to "find an atmosphere reminiscent of 'Chinatown.'" Very intriguing, indeed!

Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara star alongside Robin Wright, Stellan Skarsgard and Christopher Plummer, and production is currently underway overseas.

Sony is set to release "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" on Dec. 21, 2011.
