‘Nocturnal Animals’ First Trailer: Amy Adams ‘Did Something Horrible’ to Jake Gyllenhaal (Video)

Focus Features is releasing Tom Ford’s festival circuit hit on December 9

The new video promo for writer-director Tom Ford‘s “Nocturnal Animals” — dubbed a teaser trailer by Focus Features even though it runs more than two minutes — doesn’t shed much light on what the critically acclaimed film is about.

But we know this much at least: Amy Adams‘ character screws over her ex-husband, played by Jake Gyllenhaal.

Adams plays an art-gallery owner who is haunted by her ex-husband’s novel, a violent thriller she interprets as a veiled threat and a symbolic revenge tale.

“I did something horrible to him,” she says when asked if she loved her ex.

Michael Shannon, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Armie Hammer and Isla Fisher co-star in the drama based on Austin Wright’s novel “Tony and Susan.”

Focus Features is releasing “Nocturnal Animals,” which premiered earlier this month at the Venice Film Festival, in North American theaters on December 9.
