President Obama may have appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" Tuesday, but he had a private dinner with "his longtime friend, Jeffrey Katzenberg," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Wednesday.
The two dined alone in the president's room at the Hilton in Woodland Hills, but Carney refused to say who paid.
Certainly, the DreamWorks Animation CEO has given in the past.

Katzenberg has been a longtime major donor to the Democratic Party and a top bundler for the Obama campaign. During the last election cycle, he gave $3 million to the Priorities USA Political Action Committee and additional contributions to various Democratic Party committees.
This year he’s already responsible for a $100,000 contribution to the Senate Majority Pac.
He hosted or co-hosted two Hollywood events last year for Obama and for donors to the Obama campaign and a campaign related Democratic PAC.

The first event in May, which he co-hosted with George Clooney, featured Obama and raised $15 million.
“I want to thank Jeffrey not just for this evening, but for his tenacious support and advocacy since we started back in 2007,” President Obama said then in his remarks. “He has consistently been there for me, through thick and through thin."
A second event in October saluted donors and featured former President Bill Clinton.
