Obama Sings Al Green — Well

No hook for the crooner-in-chief

President Obama may have another career option if this whole leader-of-the-free-world thing doesn't work out.

Appearing at a fundraiser at Harlem's Apollo theater, the president sang the opening of the Rev. Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" in a very passable falsetto. Green had warmed up the crowd for Obama.

"Those guys didn’t think I would do it!" he said, apparently referring to his offstage staff. "The Sandman did not come out."

The late Howard "Sandman" Sims used to comedically pull contestants offstage with a hook when they bombed at the Apollo. Which the crooner-on-chief decidedly didn't.
