“Oprah’s Next Chapter” will debut on New Year’s Day

She's ba-a-a-ack.

Oprah Winfrey has set the date for the debut of “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” her new show on her eponymous channel —  OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. Aerosmith frontman and "American Idol" judge Steven Tyler will be the first guest for the two-hour season premiere, set to air on New Year’s Day.

Winfrey will visit Tyler at his home in New Hampshire.

After airing her long-running daily talk show from her studio in Chicago, she plans to hit the open road for many of her upcoming interviews.

For the series, she also has planned a trip to Haiti with Sean Penn, a visit with George Lucas at his Skywalker Ranch and a slumber party at the home of Southern chef Paula Deen.

"After 25 years I got myself out of the studio chairs.  I moved into the next chapter, and I am having more fun than ever — moving around the country and the world talking to people I'm really interested in getting to know and I think viewers will be, too,” Winfrey said in a statement.  “It is so energizing to be out and about in the world exploring new people, new places and new ideas.”

Winfrey has hosted or appeared on other OWN shows, such as "Oprah's Life Class," since its launch at the beginning of 2011. Yet this is her biggest project yet and it will debut exactly one year after OWN did as a network.
