In his new role, the Hollywood veteran will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of motion picture development, production, and marketing
Oren Aviv has joined Robert Simonds’ recently launched film and television studio as President and Chief Content Officer of the Motion Picture Group, the company announced Wednesday. The new studio has not yet been named but insiders say it will announced shortly.
In his new role, Aviv will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of motion picture development, production, and marketing. He will report directly to Simonds.
“Oren is one of the most accomplished and successful executives working in our industry today,” said Simonds. “His track record of achievement while running production and marketing at Disney and as CMO at Fox is extraordinary. His creative experience, talent relationships, skill set and vision will have a profound impact on our new studio.”
The motion picture group is aiming to produce and distribute up to 10 mainstream films a year in the $20 -$60 million range. The TV arm of the studio is already in production on NBC's “State of Affairs” starring Katherine Heigl.
Aviv most recently served as President of Domestic Theatrical Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer for Twentieth Century Fox, where he was responsible for overseeing all marketing campaigns for 20th Century Fox, Fox 2000 and Fox Animation films. Prior to that, he served as President of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, where he was responsible for leading all aspects of live-action development and film production for the motion picture division of The Walt Disney Studios.
