Leonardo DiCaprio Fans Are Going Crazy Over His Oscar Nomination — Literally Nuts (Video)

“The Wolf of Wall Street” actor's fourth nod has his boosters going nuts over whether he'll finally nab an Academy Award

Leonardo DiCaprio‘s newest Oscar nomination has his fans going nuts over his journey to winning one of the coveted film awards, one that started two decades ago.

On Thursday, the actor was nominated for “The Wolf of Wall Street,” his fourth Academy Award nomination. ”I am deeply humbled by this honor,” DiCaprio said of the nod.

He added, “‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ has been a passion project of mine, and I found the role to be one of the most challenging and rewarding of my career. Congratulations to all of my fellow nominees and thank you to the Academy for this extraordinary recognition.”

The nom represents his latest opportunity for a win since earning his first nomination in 1993 for Best Supporting Actor for “What's Eating Gilbert Grape?” Nominations for “The Aviator” and “Blood Diamond” followed, yet DiCaprio has yet to win an award.

And the 0-3 record has clearly become an aggravation for his fans. They're proving to be very gifted at expressing their desire for the actor to finally win. DiCaprio's statement was very humbled, but his fans’ reactions ranged from hopeful to crazy, sometimes violent levels.

Take a look at some of what the Leo fandom is saying on Twitter:

You need to buy a new keyboard. People who spam the Caps Lock are not to be taken seriously. You need to chill the hell out, stupid Leo DiCaprio fanboy. Who the hell cares if Leo doesn't win a stupid award? Maybe once he's dead and gone, the Academy will finally give it to him. Maybe bury the trophy with his dead body. Sad thing is, he doesn't have any kids so his award won't be passed down to anyone. Now shut the heck up and go back into the kitchen, loser. And stop spamming the caps lock!

GO back to the kitchen woman.

I feel quite strongly that Leo deserves an oscar, he is an incredible actor and always gives incredible performances. Saying that, and having just watched Dallas Buyers Club, Matthew Mcconaughey is going to be very very tough competition!

Seriously, who the fuck sees movies in a theater if at all? A bunch of trolls on a comment board? Seriously? Has anyone heard of this loser “actor”? No one? Not surprised at all.

If Leonardo doesn't win… I'll… I'll go on a rampage and kill every single twitter user that posted those comments above. KEEL THEM ALL! Burn their bodies to the ground, and send the surviving ones into the kitchen and force them to make sandwiches for the rest of their lives! KILL THEM ALL!

My question is — is this movie doing anything new? At this point, “white
Wall Street conmen experience meteoric rise and disgraceful plummet, as
accompanied by prostitutes and drugs; cause us to question our own
social values” isn't new ground to tread. In a year where we had some
pretty cool and unusual things happening in mainstream cinema (an
animated “princess” movie where the most important relationship was
between two sisters, a space thriller whose face was a middle-aged
    woman, a high-grossing action movie starring a young woman, a sci-fi
blockbuster where 2/3 leads were NOT white men, a female buddy-cop
movie), this just seems….tired. And honestly, nothing the movie is going to ask any questions that haven't
been asked a million times, in similar explorations. Completely dissagree, sorry.

The discussion was about best actor, not best picture. Thanks for playing
