Oscars: Judi Dench a No-Show Despite ‘Philomena’ Nomination

Actress was in India working on “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2” and not feeling up to making the trip

The 2014 Oscars will have its share of movie-industry luminaries on hand, but Judi Dench apparently won’t be one of them.

The actress, up for a Best Actress award for her role in “Philomena” this year, is not expected to be on hand for the ceremony on Sunday, People reports.

Dench, 79, was expected to be in India on Sunday night, working in “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2,” and was reportedly not feeling up to making the trip. The actress was also not on hand for this year’s Golden Globes.

Dench has been nominated for numerous Oscars, winning in 1999 in the Best Supporting Actress category for her work in “Shakespeare in Love.”

The Oscars air live on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET on Sunday night.
