Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson Go Back In Time in ‘Free Bird’s Trailer (Video)

The first trailer for Relativity's animated buddy comedy may transform Thanksgiving forever

Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson are going back in time to the first Thanksgiving ever — and they want turkeys off the menu — in the trailer for Relativity's "Free Birds."

In the animated comedy, Reggie (Wilson) is one smart turkey on a farm full of dopey corn-blind ones. When he is pardoned by the President of the United States, Reggie is recruited to go back in time to stop humans from stuffing and basting his breed each November.

Cue the 1621 revolt, and Reggie getting slapped around and thrown into walls by its much larger leader, Jake, voiced by Harrelson.

Together — and with the help of some 17th century followers — the birds are out to "change the main course of history." Get it? Because it's turkey.

Notable voice cast members include Amy Poehler, George Takei and even the Lakers' Dwight Howard as Cold Turkey. Hopefully the revolution does not require made free throws.

"Free Birds" will fly (yes, turkeys can fly) into theaters Nov. 1. Here's the trailer:
