Sorry Michigan, you’ll have to settle for a real senator: Kid Rock isn’t running for office, the musician told Howard Stern in a Tuesday morning interview.
“F— no, I’m not running for senate, are you f—ing kidding me?” Rock said on “The Howard Stern Show.” “Who couldn’t figure that out?”
The whole thing was just a publicity stunt for his new album, “Sweet Summer Sugar,” he told the SiriusXM host.
Shocker.
Rock’s faux campaign was “the worst advice that I ever gave myself,” he said to Stern, “but it’s been the most creative thing I’ve ever done, and I got to see everybody’s true colors.”
The “All Summer Long” singer added that he won’t be doing more interviews due to his distrust of the press — especially the “left-wing media,” including the New York Times, which he called “a little bit gay.”
“Sweet Southern Sugar” is due out on November 3.
To promote his new album, Rock will depart on the “Greatest Show on Earth Tour 2018,” which kicks off early next year in Nashville.
