A horror comedy written and directed by D. Kerry Prior, it stars David Anders (pictured left) and Chris Wylde as best friends who become vigilante crime fighters are turning into zombies.

“Kerry’s film is an extremely clever and stylish take on zombie folklore, and the praise he garners from our theatrical release will almost certainly excite the genre’s fans and position him as a director to watch,” Paladin president Mark Urman said in a statement. “I look forward to collaborating with Lightning Entertainment on this project, and expect it will be the first of several we do together.”

Paladin will release the film in 10 markets starting in August with day-and-date distribution on premium video-on-demand. Lightning Media, Lightning Entertainment’s distribution arm, is handling the digital release.

Lionsgate will release the DVD thanks through an on-going partnership with Lightning.

“We are thrilled that ‘The Revnant’ has found a theatrical home at Paladin,” Robert Beaumont, president of Lightning, said in a statement. “Mark’s prowess in theatrical distribution, as well as his well-honed skills in the U.S. independent marketplace, ensures that this film will have a long and successful future.”
