Paramount Picks Up ‘Middle Men’

Porn industry-set movie, directed by George Gallo, premiered at Santa Barbara Film Festival

Paramount Pictures has acquired the movie "Middle Men," which just premiered at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, for a planned release later this year.

Directed by George Gallo from a screenplay he wrote with Andy Weiss, "Middle Men" stars Luke Wilson, James Caan, Giovanni Ribisi and Gabriel Macht.

Gallo’s credits include writing “Midnight Run” and “Bad Boys” and directing “29th Street”; Weiss was a writer-producer on MTV’s "Punk’d."

The movie is an Oxymoron Entertainment/Blue Star Entertainment production; producers are Christopher Mallick, William Sherak, Jason Shuman and Michael J. Weiss.

Based on a true story, "Middle Men" follows the travails of a couple of innovators who figure out how to sell porn over the internet; however, although they were making tons of money, they were losing it as quickly as they made it. Wilson plays the corporate fixer who tries to help them.

Oxymoron Entertainment and Blue Star Entertainment recently completed production on “Columbus Circle” starring Jason Lee, Amy Smart and Selma Blair, and are about to start production on an untitled horror film from director Darren Bousman and writer Scott Milam.
